Wild Boar Trophy Hunting in France — Old Keilers on a Private Estate near Toulouse

Wild boar trophy hunting in France offers one of the most compelling and underrated trophy experiences in Europe. On our private 600-hectare estate one hour from Toulouse, we pursue mature old keilers using spot-and-stalk and high seat methods across dense garrigue and oak woodland. A flat-rate trophy policy, year-round availability and an all-inclusive package from €3,450 mean no hidden fees and no post-hunt surprises.

When to Hunt: Year-Round Wild Boar Season in France

Why Wild Boar Can Be Hunted All Year on a Managed Estate

Unlike red deer or mouflon, wild boar on a privately managed fenced estate in France can be hunted year-round without legal restriction. The estate is actively managed for population balance and trophy quality, which means a huntable population is present in every month of the calendar.

Best Months for Trophy Boar — Cooler Conditions, Active Animals

October through March offers the most comfortable hunting conditions. Cooler temperatures push animals to feed stations earlier and more predictably, improving both spot-and-stalk opportunities and high seat results. Summer hunting is entirely possible but requires earlier starts and later evenings.

The Hunt — Spot-and-Stalk for Trophy Boar

Why We Stalk Instead of Driving

Most wild boar hunting in France is organised as driven shooting, with large teams of beaters and dogs pushing animals past standing guns. We deliberately chose a different approach. Spot-and-stalk and high seat hunting allows your Professional Hunter to select the right animal before you shoot, ensuring genuine trophy quality and a more personal, immersive experience.

High Seats Over Feed Stations and Trails

The estate is equipped with multiple feed stations and established game trails, with high seats positioned to cover the most productive approach routes. Dawn and dusk are the most productive windows. All shooting angles are assessed and approved by your PH before a shot is taken.

Bow Hunting Allowed

Bow hunters are welcome on the estate. Additional days are likely required to complete a successful hunt. Please consult us when booking.

Combo Hunts — Boar with Mouflon and Red Deer

The same estate holds mouflon and red deer, both available as trophy and cull animals. Combining species on a single trip is one of the most practical advantages of hunting here. One estate, one lodge, one trip, three species.

What Defines a Trophy Wild Boar Here

Outside Tusk Over 5 cm — Our Flat-Rate Standard

A wild boar is classified as a trophy when the outside portion of the tusk exceeds 5 cm. This is a clear, objective and measurable standard. The trophy fee is fixed regardless of exact tusk length, which means no negotiation and no surprises at the end of your hunt.

Typical Weight Range: 75 to 150 kg

The estate holds animals across a wide weight range. Mature males typically run between 75 and 150 kg depending on age and season.

Selecting Mature Old Keilers

An old keiler is a mature, solitary male, typically several years old, with fully developed tusks and the scarred, heavy-set build that comes from years of competition. These are not young animals pushed through a fence. Your PH will advise on animal selection before any shot is fired.

Programme — 2 Hunting Days, 2 Nights

The Lodge — Where You Stay

8 En-Suite Bedrooms, Indoor Pool, Bar and Restaurant

All meals and open bar are included throughout your stay.

How France Compares to Hungary and Turkey for Trophy Wild Boar

Hungary and Turkey are the dominant names in European trophy boar hunting, and for good reason. Attila-strain boars in Hungary and Turkey produce some of the largest tusks recorded in SCI and CIC records, and package prices can run lower than France on a headline basis.

The honest comparison is on total cost and total experience. Hungarian trophy fees are frequently calculated on tusk weight after the hunt, which means the final invoice is unknown until the animal is on the ground. French packages with a fixed trophy fee remove that uncertainty entirely.

On the experience side, Southern France offers direct access from most European hubs, a premium lodge infrastructure that is difficult to match at the same price point in Eastern Europe, and the option to combine boar with mouflon and red deer on the same estate in a single trip. The boars here are not record-book Attila animals. They are wild-living, naturally wary old keilers in dense garrigue terrain, on a 600-hectare estate that has been managed for trophy quality for over a decade. A different hunt, a different proposition.

How to Get There

Toulouse Blagnac Airport — 1 Hour Away

The nearest airport is Toulouse Blagnac (TLS), approximately 100 km and one hour by road from the estate. Airport transfers can be arranged on request via taxi, price on application.

Bringing Your Rifle vs. Renting On Site

Rifle rental is available at 50 euros per day plus ammunition. EU visitors may bring their own rifle. Non-EU visitors should consult us regarding import formalities. A temporary French hunting licence is required and is included in the package at 100 euros per hunter for up to 3 hunting days.
